nobody can definitively define what an "assault weapon" is. A person could be assaulted with a hammer or baseball. Ought they be banned? It shows that the people wanting them banned don't have decent analytical skills and ought not be in charge of anything
The fascination of Americans with guns, ALL GUNS, needs to end now. Movies and media glorify them, toy manufacturers make them for children to "pretend" to shoot someone or something. It is a culture build on greed and irresponsibility of the media, and gun/toy manufacturers. How many more people will die as a result of mass shootings where deranged people think that killing others will even their score?
Perhaps if some members of the gop Congress had experienced the senseless deaths of their children or grandchildren it MIGHT motivate them to rein in the NRA, gun shows and to really double down on curtailing violence, by guns. No more ICE shootings of innocent right to protest Americans, no more access to high magazine clips of automatic military style weapons. STOP THE GUN SALES, STOP THE KILLING OF SCHOOL CHILDREN, and DOMESTIC VIOLENCE on spouses.
Guns must be banned for all regular citizens who are not in law enforcement where they are required to have guns. A gun license is granted when the person is mentally balanced and gun is misused when they are mentally imbalanced. Every human being goes through ups and downs in their mental balance. To protect our communities, guns and weapons of assault must be completely banned across the country in every state. It causes immense human suffering. Everyone should use peaceful constructive solutions to solve problems between them, not violence. Constructive solutions include conversation, creating a distance, tolerance, legal procedures, counseling, yoga, satisfying the other person's basic needs such as food/clothing/housing/healthcare for free. A human being deprived of their basic necessities easily turns to crime. Let's create lasting wellbeing by banning guns so that people are forced to adopt constructive solutions instead.
