Our American family might seem broken, but it is not, and here is why.
As a wife and a parent, it is my responsibility to accept responsibility when I make mistakes and strive to do better. It is also my responsibility to listen, work as part of a team, and strive towards solutions that empower and uplift my family members. The same can be said of my responsibilities as a community member or as a member of my American family.
Right now our American family seems to be pretty dysfunctional, with extremists causing chaos in the House, Senate, and yes even in the Supreme Court. Our freedoms and rights are under attack all the while we face rising costs, lower life expectancies, fewer housing and educational opportunities, and yes our planet is on fire.
But let’s not forget where we are heading:
Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and be afforded housing, healthcare, and education. Regardless of whether you have a job or not. Regardless of your age, race, sex, or religion. Additionally, we all deserve clean air and water and a community safe from gun violence.
The extremists want us to give up. They want us to believe we can not affect change. They want to wear us down so we cave to their power demands.
Never! Americans do not cower to bullies. We do not give up. We do not keep silent in the face of fear. Americans understand our nation is not perfect, but progress does not happen unless we come together and work towards solutions.
I believe in the power of the people. I have seen the love and determination of folks stepping up to write letters and postcards to voters, signing petitions and letter campaigns, making calls, sending texts, hitting doors, and dropping literature. I have seen the change that has resulted. Millions are stepping up. And more will continue to do so. We will continue to empower our American family to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to thrive.
There is no power like that of the people, and I believe it will be our love for this American family and our people power efforts that will save our American family from destruction.

People Power United Updates
Our group is growing leaps and bounds! Folks understand that with love in our hearts and hard work, we will reclaim our nation from the cruelty, chaos, and confusion. And we are having fun making impactful changes in our community! In case you missed it, this past week was busy:
People Power United joined other local, state, and national groups to urge Senators to protect voting rights and oppose Amdt. Budd #1243 on Minibus #1, which represents an attack on the updates on access to voting.
In response to the announcement of Texas US district court judge, Matthew Kasmaryck to order a trial for April 2024 against Planned Parenthood, People Power United issued a statement on behalf of our members.
People Power United joined other local, state, and national groups to urge Senator Menendez to resign.
People Power United submitted a letter to the Oversight committee of META on behalf of our membership.
Our members took over 28,000 actions.
