Here’s How We Stand Up to Fascism
Friends, if there’s one thing I’ve learned since leaving the comfort of suburbia to become an advocate for freedom over fascism, progress, and power to the people, it’s this: this journey is not easy.
But I am not alone—and neither are you.
This week, like nearly every week since Donald Trump was elected president, has been a disaster for our nation. Long after Trump and his complicit, corrupt, and lazy Republican allies in Congress are gone from office, it will be we the people who are left to live with the damage—and do the work of recovery.
Still, I remain hopeful.
I believe we the people will rise up, remove these greedy politicians from power, and get back to leveling our shared resources so that everyone who calls America home is treated with dignity and respect and has a real opportunity to thrive.
And while Senate and House Republicans threw millions of people off the health care lifeboat this week, we’re going on offense.
We are standing with Senator Bernie Sanders to demand real, bold health care reform—because lives are on the line, and we can fix it:
Extend the enhanced ACA premium tax credits so 20 million Americans don’t see their premiums double overnight.
Repeal the $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid and the ACA, which would strip coverage from 15 million people and could lead to 50,000 unnecessary deaths each year—that is unacceptable.
Expand Medicare to include dental, vision, and hearing, because no senior should go without dentures, glasses, or hearing aids due to cost.
Cut prescription drug prices by at least 50% by requiring Big Pharma to charge no more here than in Europe or Canada.
Expand primary care by fully funding Community Health Centers, the National Health Service Corps, and Teaching Health Centers to fix the doctor shortage and make care accessible everywhere.
End health care profiteering by banning stock buybacks and dividends and limiting CEO compensation. From 2001–2022, major health care corporations made $2.7 trillion in profits while patients suffered.

But our work doesn’t stop with health care.
When leaders escape accountability, it sends a chilling message: power—not justice—reigns supreme. That erosion of trust opens the door to authoritarianism. Billionaire-bought justices and wealthy elites wield outsized influence to strip away our rights—not to represent us, but to rule over us and silence the majority. We won’t let that happen!
History shows where unchecked power leads: corruption, oppression, and silenced voices. That’s why this Freedom Over Fascism struggle matters. It isn’t abstract—it’s happening now, and it’s about protecting the values that define us.
At People Power United, we stand against hatred, bigotry, and discrimination in all forms. We fight for justice, dignity, and freedom—for our democracy, our families, and our communities.
Let me be absolutely clear: when I say fight, I mean a peaceful struggle—through civic engagement, advocacy, truth-telling, and nonviolent civil disobedience. We reject violence outright. But neutrality in the face of injustice is complicity.
Democracy only works when leaders are accountable to the people. If they refuse to listen, we organize to replace them. Here at People Power United we speak out, show up, and help to build people power. Complaining without action sustains harm. Inaction is a choice—and it aligns with the status quo we are working to dismantle.
Liberty and justice for all must mean everyone, not just the wealthy and powerful.
What gives me hope is you! People Power is force stronger than greed, louder than corruption, and more enduring than authoritarianism. Progress isn’t passive. It’s a movement. And that work—our work—starts now.

Hi! I’m a constituent calling to urge you as a member of Congress to prioritize REAL healthcare reform. that lowers costs and expands access for all Americans. Extending ACA tax credits, funding primary health care, expanding Medicare to cover dental and hearing, and cutting drug prices are proven, popular steps that would immediately improve millions of lives. Repealing the $1 Trillion in tax cuts for the wealthy, banning health care corporation stock buybacks and limiting CEO compensation would prioritize patient care over profit. Congress must act now to finally treat health care as a human right.
