From Coast to Coast, Families Fight Back Against Billionaire Greed
Food, Care, and Safety—Not Tax Breaks for Billionaires
Across all 50 states, a movement is rising—led not by lobbyists or billionaires, but by everyday people. By parents holding signs outside courthouses, by seniors in wheelchairs blocking the halls of power, and by students marching for their future. The images speak for themselves: this country is fed up with corruption, cruelty, and greed. Check out the awesome photos included in todays piece from the Good Trouble Lives On Day of Action. People Power United was a proud partner for this national day of action and we even hosted a virtual rally.1 At each and every event, we're holding our elected officials accountable for siding with billionaires over babies, with CEOs over seniors, with greed over human need.
34-time convicted felon President-but-not-a-leader Trump and his complicit Republican concentration camp builders will kick 10 million people off of their healthcare and up our national debt by $3.4 trillion dollars according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office. In fact, the CBP predicts the BIG UGLY NOT BEAUTIFUL bill “costs will outweigh is savings.” (Politico) 2
All of this nonsense is to fund tax breaks for billionaires and ramp up a police/ICE authoritarian state. Republicans voted to slash food assistance, forcing families to choose between groceries and rent. They defunded disaster relief, ignoring the hurricanes and wildfires that are already devastating our communities. They even voted to eliminate free school meals, ripping food from the hands of children just trying to learn.
The cruelty is the point. And we're putting a stop to it.
From immigrant families torn apart by ICE raids, to disabled Americans who now face impossible healthcare costs, this is a portrait of government failure—and a call to action. These are not just policies. They are deliberate acts of harm, designed by a Republican-led Congress and a corrupt Trump administration to funnel money upward, while working families suffer.
But the people are rising.
On July 26—nearing the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the 60th anniversary of Medicaid—we are flooding streets, statehouses, and social media with one clear message: our families come first. Not billionaires. Not authoritarians. Not corrupt politicians who treat the government like a game for the rich.
We believe in a country where no child goes hungry. Where no elder dies waiting for care. Where families don't have to flee wildfires with no FEMA support. Where immigrant families can live without fear. Where zip code and immigration status don't determine whether you eat, see a doctor, or survive disaster.
The future we're fighting for is simple and just:
Healthcare for everyone who needs it.
Nutritious meals are provided for every child in every school.
Safety from both natural disasters and political abuse.
A government that serves people, not power.
We're not just protesting. We're building a better America where leaders care, neighbors show up, and families thrive. The images you see below are not just moments. They are proof of what's possible when we rise together.
