I have become an activist out of necessity. I cannot stand by and see people who are protesting for their right to Medicaid and Medicare treated like criminals. Trump has made good on his vow that law enforcement are no longer doing their jobs in arresting real criminals, but have become Gestapo in arresting people for exercising their right to live in a Democracy. I am writing letters and postcards to Senators, attending rallies and demonstrations.

This is sickening. They arrest people in wheelchairs? For protesting their right of free speech? I am so glad in the face of this threat to our Democracy that people are standing up for what's right. Our government has become a pathetic shadow of injustice: The Supreme Court, The Senate, even the House with its many Democrats. Even in the House some Democrats are going along with the GOP. You see, don't you, that it's not going to be the politicians who take back our Democracy, it's has to be you and I! The American people!
I just found out that my nephew has suspected for the last two years that he has testicular cancer. In Oklahoma, where he lives, he has not been able to afford health insurance, nor does he qualify for SoonerCare (Oklahoma's version of Medicaid). Consequently, he has not been to a doctor and can't afford any of the diagnostic tests he would need to find out for sure. Our healthcare system in this country does not even deserve to be linked to the word "care". This Big, Beautiful, Bill the Republicans are about to pass will make a shoddy, inadequate healthcare system even worse. Sick, sick, sick.
