January 2020. Laurie leading protesters in front of Senator Romney’s office in Salt Lake City Utah. We used brooms and signs that advocated for the Senator to not sweep away justice.

Five years ago, we stood at a crossroads, hoping Congress would find the courage to hold Trump accountable. They failed, and now we’re facing the full-scale assault on our democracy that followed.

I remember leaving sunny South Florida for a month in Salt Lake City, pushing Senator Romney to do the right thing—impeach Trump and allow witnesses. (Yes, Republicans actually wanted a trial without witnesses.😡😠)

Now, we face an even greater threat. Convicted 34-time felon Trump and his MAGA enablers don’t want to represent us—they want to rule over us. But here’s the good news: people are rising up! 💪

I just met a mom in Kansas who’s had enough. She’s scared but refusing to be silent. She’s organizing a Presidents’ Day protest—just like thousands of others who are speaking out, showing up, and building power.

So let me say this loud and clear: No one can impose their racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, antisemitism, homophobia, misogyny, sexism, ageism, ableism, sizeism, transphobia, misogynoir, elitism, or bigotry on us.

We will not obey.
We will not cower.
We will do the work to remove them from power.

These are tough times, but remember this: We are not alone. We have power. And every action we take matters. (Check out our about us page to see how we will not cower to bullies or fools.)

50501 Protests and the 5 Calls App

We've received questions about the 50501 protests in all 50 states, economic boycotts, and apps like 5 calls. Here's our stance: We don't amplify anything we can't verify. There are plenty of bad actors—link baiters, foreign trolls, and others—trying to sow division.

We will not share or promote any app or organization we can not verify the leadership, data security, or the ownership of. We believe in transparency and getting money out of politics. Any organization that hides its leadership, ownership, or data trail, is in my humble opinion not being good stewards for democracy.

That being said, I sincerely hope the events and apps are safe, real, and productive.
