📢 Call to Action: Congress Is About to Reward ICE’s Abuse—Unless We Stop It
Freedom over fascism means drawing the line—and drawing it now. No more kidnappings. No more detention deaths. No more money for an agency that operates without accountability.
Right now—behind closed doors—both Democratic and Republican leaders in Congress are moving to give the Department of Homeland Security even more money, with no real oversight of an agency that is already terrorizing our communities. A proposed Fiscal Year 2026 DHS funding bill has been introduced, and it would reward lawlessness, violence, and abuse instead of stopping it.
This is a red-alert moment. If we don’t act, Congress will write another blank check.
No More Blank Checks: Power to the People, Not Cruelty by Design
Freedom over fascism means drawing a clear moral line—and drawing it now. No more blank checks. No more kidnapping our community members. No more killing people in detention or ripping children from school drop-offs. No more intimidation, threats, or profiteering by an agency that breaks the law day in and day out.
ICE is still detaining people in places like Alligator Alcatraz1, and the body count in detention continues to rise while reports of abuse and coercion mount—pepper-spraying, beatings, threats to force deportations, and deporting people to places they cannot even navigate. This is not policy failure—this is cruelty by design.
We must also confront a stark political reality: there is a real possibility that ICE will be rewarded, not reined in, this year. Many Republican members of Congress are already positioned to give ICE more money and more pats on the back because that is who they are. Unfortunately, several Democrats have also sided with Republicans on immigration enforcement funding or are considering backing bills that increase money for ICE without meaningful oversight. All members of Congress need to hear from us—every day, every Call, every message until the vote. These are dangerous times, but we do have the power to move mountains if we act together with urgency, clarity, and solidarity.
When we say no more money for ICE, let’s be clear: this is not about opposing safe and secure borders—we all want safety. It’s about refusing to fund abuse, terror, and lawlessness. Not one more penny for ICE unless these atrocities end, full accountability is enforced, and every dollar of taxpayer money is transparently tracked and answered for.
Masked federal agents are unleashing violence in our cities and neighborhoods—most tragically seen in the January 7 fatal shooting of 37-year-old mother Renee Nicole Good2 by an ICE agent in Minneapolis, a U.S. citizen killed near her home shortly after dropping off her child at school. This incident has sparked outrage across the country and intensified demands for restraint, oversight, and accountability.
This is not the America we deserve. This is not an agency we can trust with unchecked power or limitless funds. Congress already gave DHS an unprecedented blank check; giving even more money with no guardrails will only escalate family separations, the terrorization of communities, and deaths in custody—32 deaths3 last year alone, the deadliest year on record.
Now is the moment to act. Please do the calls to action below—call, write, and show up and speak out every day until the vote. This is about more than policy; it’s about our values and our priorities. Morally, we cannot keep funding cruelty, lawlessness, and the tearing apart of families. Financially, we cannot justify pouring billions into an agency that operates without accountability while our communities struggle to afford housing, health care, education, and support for veterans.
These are dangerous times, but history shows that when we act together with courage and persistence, people power wins. Hope lives in action—and together, we can build a future rooted in dignity, justice, and opportunity for all.

Hello, my name is [NAME], and I’m a constituent from [CITY/ZIP].
I’m reaching out to urge you to reject any Fiscal Year 2026 bill that increases ICE funding—not one more penny for Trump’s deportation force.
Congress must end mass detention and racialized dragnet operations that target people based on race, language, or accent. I’m also asking you to end Border Patrol deployment in our cities and stop its ever-expanding role as a personal secret police force that terrorizes communities.
ICE must no longer be allowed to operate slush funds. Congress should cut off ICE’s ability to move money around for detention centers and military-style weapons, and instead impose real, enforceable limits on agency power.
Finally, I urge you to support independent investigations into every death and abuse in custody, ban private detention profiteering, and require full transparency for every taxpayer dollar spent.
Please vote NO on any bill that expands ICE or CBP funding without these protections. I expect you to stand with our communities, the rule of law, and human dignity.
Thank you.
