Much as I support the idea of an Office of Racial Equity, this is the wrong year to maintain a campaign for it The campaign will give racist Republicans one more megaphone in an election year to yell about how "woke" the United States has become and how Democrats need to be defeated.
It's always a good time to stand up for what is right. We can not build a movement for racial justice based on a bigots timeline. Our advocacy for what is right shall not step to the side for racists.
