If you have been with me for a while, you know I don’t follow the herd. When the news zigs, I zag, because my job is to cut through the noise and help us focus on what matters.
Right now, our rights, freedoms, democracy, and the rule of law are under siege. 34-time convicted felon Trump who has the title President but is not a leader and his lazy Republican accomplices in Congress would rather silence comedians than pass bipartisan laws that help real people. Instead of doing their jobs, they swagger like strongmen—threatening critics like Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert, weaponizing the justice system to go after former FBI Director James Comey, billionaire philanthropist George Soros, and Congressman Adam Schiff, terrorizing trans folks and immigrants (ICE now cages more non-criminals than criminals!1), and even plotting to throw millions off Obamacare while swiping money that our votes appropriated all so they can enrich cronies and create policies without oversight.
But let’s not get distracted by their circus. Let’s come back to the victims—because there are so many. I will never forget reading the Miami Herald exposé that first blew open the Epstein cover-up. I felt sick. Then I sobbed. As a sexual assault survivor, I know the pain of being silenced. We cannot let survivors be buried under secrecy and power. Their voices must stay front and center.
The Epstein files hold the truth—investigations, correspondence, internal memos—yet much remains sealed. Every day those documents stay hidden is another day powerful predators and their enablers escape scrutiny. Prosecutors, journalists, and the public deserve the chance to follow the evidence, connect the dots, and hold every guilty party accountable. Transparency isn’t just a legal formality—it’s the only way to rebuild trust in a justice system that has long protected the wealthy and well-connected.
Let’s be clear: Epstein didn’t operate alone. His crimes touch prosecutors, law enforcement, financial regulators, intelligence agencies, private donors, elite networks, and political actors. The files likely show ignored leads, conflicts of interest, and institutional cowardice. Releasing them will force reforms, expose systemic rot, and warn every would-be abuser that the era of impunity is over.
Yes, redactions are needed to protect survivors’ privacy. Yes, ongoing cases can be handled with phased releases. But indefinite secrecy? Absolutely not. Justice delayed is justice denied.
