South Dakota direct democracy restrictions remain blocked - Appeals court judges upheld a lower-court ruling that permanently blocked a law making it harder for citizens to put laws or constitutional changes directly on the ballot. Reproductive Freedom for All
Judge blocks Trump’s abstinence-only overhaul of teen pregnancy prevention program. - A federal judge halted the administration’s attempt to reshape evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention grants around abstinence-only ideology. This is a win for reproductive freedom for all because young people deserve truthful, science-based education that helps them make informed decisions about their bodies and futures. NOTUS

Federal court strikes down Trump’s discriminatory 75-country visa ban - A federal court struck down a blanket nationality-based immigrant visa ban affecting people from 75 countries, ordering lawful case-by-case review to resume. This is a win for immigrant and refugee rights because families should not be separated by sweeping discrimination dressed up as policy. Democracy Forward
Appeals court upholds ban on immigration enforcement at some churches - A federal appeals court upheld an injunction limiting immigration enforcement at or near more than 1,400 houses of worship across 33 states and Washington, D.C. This is a win for immigrant and refugee rights because people should be able to worship, gather, and seek community care without fear that sacred spaces will become traps. CT Mirror

Court upholds rule designating two forever chemicals as hazardous substances. - A federal appeals court upheld the EPA’s authority to list PFOA and PFOS as hazardous substances under the Superfund law, strengthening cleanup accountability for toxic PFAS contamination. This is a win for protecting our planet because polluters should pay to clean up the mess they made, not dump the cost onto families, communities, and taxpayers. - NRDC
Wins for Labor Rights
Over 2,000 grocery workers approve new contract - Meat, seafood, and deli workers at more than 60 ShopRite locations across southern New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, and Delaware voted overwhelmingly to approve a new collective bargaining agreement. This is a win for labor rights because organized workers secured wage gains, protected union health benefits, and expanded leave policies through collective power. UFCW

Stop GOP destruction of Social Security for future generations. Do NOT allow privatization. Raise the cap to $500 and millionaires pay based upon their capitol gains, restore service staff and accessible locations. End taxing Social Security recipients already taxed on this earned income. Millions live on Social Security, and payouts are based on average clerical income
This needs to be changed to actual cost of living. Congress has ignored fixing Social Security that workers earned towards for 30 years+ to have
funds and health Medicare coverage in their golden years. It's critical to all working folks to get a decent income they paid into for a livable quality life when they retire.
Now let's just hope he closes even more anti-democracy ideas the slug thinks up.
