Trump’s tax immunity scheme complicates Todd Blanche’s attorney general nomination - Trump’s refusal to terminate a controversial tax-immunity arrangement that reeks of corruption and self dealing created new scrutiny around Todd Blanche’s nomination and drew pressure from Republican senators seeking clarification. This is a win for freedom over fascism because self-protective power deals can still face public scrutiny, legal pressure, and political consequences. The Guardian
Hochul tells sheriffs to end ICE agreements - New York Governor Kathy Hochul is directing county sheriffs to terminate agreements with ICE by an August 25 deadline, requiring local law enforcement to stop participating in civil immigration enforcement. This is a win for local government and immigrant and refugee rights because local police should be focused on local safety — not turning community resources into an arm of federal deportation machinery. This is a win for immigrant and refugee rights because prosecutors and legal advocates are publicly building pressure to defend children’s rights and keep basic legal protections in place. Trump’s plan to keep undocumented immigrants locked up rejected by his own judicial appointee - The Ninth Circuit rejected the Trump administration’s effort to deny bond hearings to undocumented immigrants arrested inside the United States, saying the policy had no legal basis. Brooklyn Defender Services staff reach tentative agreement after strike - Workers at Brooklyn Defender Services reached a tentative agreement after a five-day strike, winning gains that include pay increases, more sick leave, higher retirement contributions, and remote-work protections. This is a win for labor rights because workers used collective power to secure better conditions in public-interest legal work. AFL-CIO

Hosted by Reverend Al Sharpton, the National Action Network, and the Drum Major Institute, and joined by Martin Luther King III and other civil rights leaders, this historic gathering will mark the 63rd anniversary of the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech.
But this is more than a commemoration. It is a call to action. At a time when voting rights, democracy, and basic freedoms are under attack, we must show up together to protect the promise of liberty and justice for all.

American "greatness" as in M.A.G.A. derives from bullying weaker groups ,,, and has since we landed on Plymouth Rock. We spend WAY MORE than the next six or seven countries COMBINED on death and destruction of people who originally never posed a threat.
Vietnam: ALWAYS fought for their independence against capitalists and communist takeovers.
Afghanistan: WE ended up installing the Taliban, their most oppressive group in power and lost just like the USSR communists where we supported the opposition we later fought.
Iraq: The one Arab country NOT involved in terrorism was framed for "crimes" we often perpetrated and scammed by slant-drilling under their border from (now) our colony, Kuwait.
Iran: WE are the ones with WMDs! WE are the aggressors! And (again) we're losing ANOTHER colonial war!
