🗽 Wins for Freedom Over Fascism
Texas Supreme Court stops Republicans from changing voting maps in the middle of an election. The court blocked Galveston County officials from switching district lines after voters had already chosen nominees under different boundaries during the primary. This is a win because politicians should not be able to change the rules after an election has begun to manufacture a partisan advantage. (Democracy Docket)
🫶 Wins for Immigrant and Refugee Rights
Appeals court blocks IRS from handing taxpayer information to ICE. A unanimous federal appeals panel upheld an order stopping an IRS system that had disclosed confidential taxpayer information to immigration authorities without satisfying federal privacy requirements. This is a win for immigrant communities and everyone who values privacy because the government must obey laws protecting sensitive taxpayer information instead of turning federal databases into shortcuts for immigration enforcement. 🌎 Wins for Protecting Our Planet
Seattle community wins back pollution protections after challenging tire burning. After two years of organizing and litigation, community advocates succeeded in reinstating a limit on the amount of tires a Seattle cement facility can burn after testing found increased levels of a toxic heavy metal. This is a win for environmental justice because residents demanded evidence, accountability, and cleaner air, and their persistence produced a concrete pollution safeguard. (Earthjustice)
✊ Wins for Labor Rights
New England bakery workers avert a strike and win stronger wages, pensions and job security. More than 200 sales and warehouse workers ratified a six-year agreement by a 90% vote after previously authorizing a strike, winning wage increases, pension improvements, lower health-care costs, and stronger job protections. This is a win for labor rights because workers stood together, demonstrated they were prepared to withhold their labor, and turned that collective power into a better contract. It comes when we the people speak out, show up, and demand action—because our communities and families cannot wait, and every moment we delay gives injustice more room to tighten its grip on our communities.

For years, we’ve used this GIF to say thank you for taking action and will continue to do so. Dolly reminded us what it looks like to lead with kindness, generosity, courage, and love. She used both her voice and her actions to make the world a little better for the people around her. May we honor that example by opening our hearts, showing up for one another, and choosing every day to leave this world better than we found it.
This week, courts checked abuses of power, immigrant families won important due-process protections, workers secured stronger contracts, and communities defended clean air and reproductive freedom. None of these wins happened by accident. They happened because people organized, challenged injustice, stood together, and kept going even when the odds were stacked against them.
Power belongs to the people who show up, speak out, stand together, and build the power to hold our leaders accountable to the people they serve.
