💥The SAVE Act Is a Trojan Horse for Voter Suppression
The SAVE Act would block eligible voters while Trump and Republicans distract from corruption, rising costs, war, and failed immigration reform.
🗽 Tell your Senator: Vote NO on the SAVE America Act
Friends, Donald Trump and his allies are turning a lie into a weapon—and demanding that the Senate help them aim it at millions of eligible voters.
The so-called SAVE America Act is not election security. It is a Trojan horse designed to bury the freedom to vote beneath paperwork, confusion, intimidation, and delay.
It Solves a Problem That Does Not Exist
Citizenship is already required to vote in federal elections, and noncitizen voting is exceedingly rare. Yet the SAVE America Act would force people to provide documentary proof of citizenship when registering and a narrowly approved photo ID when voting.
The Bipartisan Policy Center found that roughly 12% of registered voters lack the required documentation. Researchers estimate that 21.3 million voting-age citizens cannot readily access documentary proof of citizenship.
The burden would fall hardest on married women whose names do not match their birth certificates, tribal citizens whose IDs lack the demanded information, military families born overseas, rural voters far from election offices, transgender Americans, seniors, people with disabilities, natural-disaster survivors, and working people who cannot take time off or afford replacement records.
We already know where this road leads. Kansas imposed a documentary-proof requirement that prevented roughly 31,000 eligible citizens from registering—far more citizens than noncitizens. 1
That is not election integrity. It is voter prevention.

The Attack Is Back
Earlier this year, Trump explicitly tied Department of Homeland Security funding to passage of the SAVE America Act.
Critical workers, airport safety, disaster response, and national security became bargaining chips for voter suppression.
Now, Trump is threatening our elections and intensifying the fearmongering. This political theater is also a smokescreen, distracting from crises that demand accountability: unanswered questions about the Epstein files, rampant corruption throughout the Trump administration, rising costs for working families, and an expensive war with Iran that Congress never authorized—one marked by shifting objectives, no clear end, and billions of taxpayer dollars already spent.
The incompetence of Trump and congressional Republicans is staggering. They control the White House, the House, and the Senate—yet Americans are still being forced to pay for their chaos, corruption, and failure to govern. Gas, food, health care, and housing costs are surging, while Trump and Republicans keep making life more expensive for everyone except the wealthy.
Trump’s response? Double down—and try to take away voting by mail and eligible voters ballots.
Take Action Now
The Senate must hear from us before Trump and his allies find another way to force this voter-suppression scheme through Congress.

Why the Grassroots Resistance Can’t Wait
People Power United members believe change is possible because we have seen ordinary people rise, organize, and be a force for progress. Real change does not come from waiting politely, staying quiet, or hoping those in power suddenly grow a conscience. It comes when people speak out, show up, and demand action—because our communities and families cannot wait, and every moment we delay gives injustice more room to tighten its grip on our communities.
