If you urge eliminating the cap on income, shouldn't we urge eliminating the cap on benefits? After all, these are earned benefits. Not a partisan position, just a fiscal and moral one.

Thank you Laurie for everything you do. We need you. I was a member of LWV until I was told that they are bipartisan. I couldn't stay with an organization that supports MAGA. I have now joined Good Neighbors and have signed up to help out with covering Thruway Overpasses from Albany to Westfield NY (the last ‘safe’ bridge in NY) focused on Voting in the Rural Districts of WNY.

I am an election official and I will fight for our voting rights. Trump cannot steal the mid terms.

Your work is well noted Laurie and we need you.

We need to clone you Sylvia! We need more election officials and folks holding their leaders accountable to the will of the people. Thanks for being my hero!

$40 trillion in debt, all our safety nets gasping for air as they drown in red tape and poverty, and it's all because congress hasn't the spine to tax the obscenely rich as they should! We pay $1tillion in INTEREST on the debt each year! What could we do with that trillion? Give social security people a big raise instead of cut-backs, give everyone universal health care, maternity leave, and a guaranteed income, that's what!

Doing research, the government owes our SS over 24 billion dollars. They have left multiple IOU’s.

Try $2.7-2.8 TRILLION DOLLARS! That's how much social security "excess" has been spent by congress, and all s.s. got was a bunch of I.O.U.'s!

I have no sound no matter what I do.

I am 80 years old. I worked for 55 years. Every paycheck I was pleased to see my social security deductions because it was an assurance for my future. Now I am furious at the betrayal (and theft) by my government. I know I am not alone in this frustration and disappointent.

Two great points. I didn’t know there was a cap. That should’ve never been there and it definitely needs to go!
