FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 20, 2023

In response to the recent Colorado court ruling that “Trump Engaged in Insurrection but can remain on the ballot,” People Power United - a progressive grassroots group - issued the following statement:

No one is above the law. The recent ruling by a Colorado judge that found that former President Donald Trump incited insurrection, but can remain on the ballot, must be challenged by everyone who calls America home. America is not ruled by kings without absolute power. We are a democracy which is powered by its people. A technicality can not smother the voices of the people or their power.
People Power United will continue to push back against injustices and hold our leaders accountable to the people they serve. There is no power like that of the people, and People Power United stands ready to protect our communities against any and all injustices,” said Laurie Woodward García of People Power United.
