People are demanding affordable healthcare, housing, education, and climate actionānot AI data centers on public lands and expanding surveillance networks.
Iām reaching a breaking point watching whatās happening in this country. The future is starting to look dark, and it feels like humanity is moving backwards instead of evolving. Weāre pouring billions into surveillance systems and totalitarian camera networks while cutting the basic supports that disabled people and families in poverty rely on just to survive.
SNAP keeps shrinking. SSI is still below poverty level. Housing vouchers donāt cover rent. Medicaid waivers take years. Food access programs are constantly threatened. Itās always the people who need help the most who get hit first.
And now weāre throwing massive amounts of money and resources into AI data centers ā giant facilities that devour water, eat up federal land, and push an already fragile electrical grid to the edge. We barely have water as it is. We barely have land that isnāt being swallowed up. Our grid is already stressed and weāre paying outrageous prices for electricity. And somehow the solution is⦠more data centers?
Itās becoming painfully clear:
If you have enough money, you can do whatever you want.
And more and more people in power are choosing profit over compassion, profit over sustainability, profit over civil rights, profit over human lives.
I recently read a resignation letter from a pediatric oncologist ā someone who dedicated their life to saving children. He said he couldnāt do it one more day. He knew about treatments that could save kidsā lives, but he was forced to use poison instead or face criminal charges. Imagine being a doctor, knowing you could save a child, and being legally forced to harm them because someone with money decided profit mattered more than human life.
Thatās not just a policy failure.
Thatās moral collapse.
Weāre told thereās āno moneyā for disabled people to eat, but thereās money for surveillance networks.
Weāre told budgets are tight, but billions magically appear for AI facilities that drain the resources we barely have left.
Weāre told to trust systems that clearly prioritize profit over people.
This isnāt evolution.
This is regression.
This is what it looks like when a society chooses control over compassion, extraction over sustainability, and surveillance over humanity.
I refuse to accept that this is the direction weāre heading.
If youāre tired of watching essential programs get gutted while surveillance expands and AI data centers drain our water, land, and electricity, speak up.
Share posts. Sign petitions. Call your representatives. Support disability justice groups. Push back against policies that treat vulnerable people as expendable and our environment as infinite.
We deserve a future where people are fed, housed, cared for ā and where our natural resources arenāt sacrificed for systems that donāt actually help us.
If we donāt fight for our future, the darkness wins.
