📺 Tell NBC AND COMCAST: DON’T FIRE SETH MEYERS — Protect Freedom of Speech

In this critical moment for our democracy, we need to be absolutely clear: firing Seth Meyers would not just be a bad programming decision — it would be an act of complicity in Donald Trump’s escalating war on the First Amendment. Seth Meyers has been one of the loudest, sharpest, and most consistent voices speaking truth to power. His monologues cut through the noise, expose corruption, and uplift the core values that keep our democracy alive: free expression, accountability, and the right of the people to know the truth. Silencing a comedian for criticizing a political leader is something that happens in dictatorships — not in the United States. We must not allow NBC or Comcast to become Trump’s accomplice.
Every authoritarian movement begins the same way: attack the press, intimidate critical voices, and use fear to force institutions to bend. Trump’s threats against Seth aren’t jokes — they are part of a broader pattern of targeting journalists, comedians, actors, writers, and media outlets who refuse to bow down. NBC and Comcast must stand up for the rights of their own employees, the values they claim to uphold, and the millions of viewers who rely on Seth to break down complex issues with honesty, humor, and courage.
The consequences go far beyond one show. If Seth Meyers can be pressured off the air because a president wants revenge, then no journalist, comedian, or truth-teller is safe. Today it’s Seth. Tomorrow, it’s any reporter who refuses to spread propaganda. This is the slippery slope to censorship and state-controlled media — and once we start sliding, it is hard to climb back. NBC and Comcast must not give Trump the satisfaction of seeing a critic silenced. Our democracy cannot afford that kind of surrender.
We live in a nation founded on the belief that no one — not even a president — is a king. That’s why the First Amendment is first. It’s why freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and freedom of expression form the backbone of a free society. NBC and Comcast must choose a side: stand with the Constitution and the people, or cave to a political bully demanding obedience. The choice should be easy.
Seth Meyers has always shown up for democracy. Now we must show up for him.
