Why is ICE hiding? Because fear—not justice—is guiding these actions. Fear of public backlash. Fear of being recognized. Fear of consequences.
Authoritarianism rarely announces itself. It seeps in quietly—wrapped in “law and order,” justified by fear, protected by silence. Today, it shows up as masked ICE agents, unmarked vehicles, and neighbors who vanish without explanation.
This isn’t about safety. It isn’t about justice.
It’s about control—and fear as a weapon.
Masks Don’t Protect the Public. They Protect Abuse.
ICE says masks protect agents. But protection without accountability is impunity. When armed agents refuse to show their faces, names, or badges, they strip the public of the right to know who is exercising state power over our lives.
Even former ICE officials warn these tactics invite chaos—making it impossible to tell law enforcement from criminals. When no one can be identified, accountability disappears. And when accountability disappears, abuse follows.
A government that hides from the people cannot be trusted to serve them.
This Isn’t Immigration Enforcement. It’s a Power Test.
This isn’t about who is targeted—it’s about how.
Masks. Plainclothes. Unmarked cars. Silence.
That’s not rule of law. That’s intimidation.
These tactics don’t just terrorize immigrant communities—they endanger everyone. Criminals are already impersonating ICE, using the same methods to kidnap, assault, and rob. When the state models lawlessness, others follow.
If this can happen to our neighbors, it can happen to any of us.
Disappearances Are the Language of Dictatorships
In a democracy, people are charged—not disappeared.
Yet families are watching loved ones taken without explanation, without dignity, without due process. Legal experts have condemned this as authoritarian by design—an effort to evade responsibility while spreading fear.
This is fear theater. And it corrodes freedom from the inside out.
Unmask the Fear. Restore Accountability.
If ICE believes its actions are lawful, its agents should enforce the law openly—faces uncovered, names visible, authority clear.
Transparency is courage.
Accountability is strength.
Democracy requires both.
That’s why Congress must act—now—to ban secret policing and require visible identification for all federal enforcement.

How many masked “officers” are pardonned Jan6 rioters who tried to stop the peaceful transfer of power? tgey believe now that all immigrants without documentation deserve prison, separation from family and deportation without due process in the courts… just as on Jan6 they believed Trump’s lie about winning 2020 election instead of believing 60+ judges -many Republican/appointed- who said the election was valid, not rigged, and Biden won the presidency
