Masked agents and unmarked vans aren’t about safety—they’re about control and fear. When due process dies, democracy dies with it. It’s time to unmask the fear and demand accountability.
If ICE officers are going to hide who they are, & it's impossible to tell the difference between them & rapist/kidnapper/robber impersonators, then the public should treat them ALL like criminals. If they choose to look the part, they should suffer the consequences.
If the public "arrest" thug-looking ICE personnel, not only will we be protecting people from the thug impersonators, but maybe ICE will rethink their own thug impersonations & start identifying themselves like they're supposed to. Extreme response? Maybe. But it's an extreme situation that needs to be nipped in the bud.
