I'm not seeing ICE in the Southern Oregon area, but I did attend a recent rally in support of immigrants. We mostly got welcomes from other drivers with the occasional upthrust finger and shouts to 'Go home!' Yes, I am shocked at how Trump continues to ignore human rights, and now it appears he's started World War lll to add to his crimes. You can be sure many Arab countries will support Iran and retaliate. Thank you, Trump, for screwing up the world and this country especially. Oh, and Edward Oberweiser, we're not living in an oligarchy anymore. It's a dictatorship, an authoritarian fascist power grab instigated by crooked corruption and backed by corporate greed.
I am thoroughly disgusted with and against everything this administration does, did, and plans to do to further eliminate our rights and ultimately our democracy. I will continue to be a part of the community that opposes and protests against it.
What can we do to completely change this oligarchy that we are living under and have been for some time? Until we take control of our government away from the greedy billionaires who own many politicians and all of the so-called mainstream media. Until we do this, nothing will change
What can you do to protest this? And this is not an oligarchy, but a full-blown despotic dictatorship. You can join resistance movements and become an activist. Go to rallies and protests. Write and sign petitions. Go to Zoom meetings. There are many things you can do. Do not just wring your hands in despair. This is especially where you need to get involved.
I’m with you in the resistance. I’m appalled at the assaults on the rule of law, the stripping of health benefits like SNAP and Medicaid to benefit the obscenely rich, attacks on first amendment rights, ICE abuses, the open corruption and the reckless pursuit of war. I know it is my duty as a citizen of this country to defend our rights, our Constitution, and our communities from this terrible fascist regime. I am lucky to be financially stable, which means I have a responsibility to those who are not so fortunate.
I’m a permanently disabled, palliative single mom raising two kids on less than $1,000 a month in SSDI. My mortgage is predatory. My energy bills are obscene. My food stamps don’t cover a month of groceries. My queer child attends a Title 1 school that is underfunded while billions go to war and detention.
My 19 year old is working, part time, at a chain restaurant to help pay bills, rather than attend college. It breaks my heart that my kid is "taking care of me" and my youngest, rather than me helping them.
So how am I feeling?
I’m exhausted. I’m angry. I’m done being told there’s “no money” for housing, healthcare, or public education while there’s always money for bombs and ICE expansion.
In my community, I see working people drowning quietly. I see seniors choosing between medication and electricity. I see young adults giving up before they’ve even started.
What do I need from you?
Concrete action. Policy pressure. Legal strategy. Housing reform. Utility accountability. Protection for disabled and LGBTQ+ families. Not vague empathy, Structural change. The Iatrogenic VIOLENCE/ABUSE/NEGLECT is beyond beyond. No one helps, they give 5 phone numbers that never answer or call back (unless its to say, here are 5 more numbers).
I'm dying. Not hyperbole, rhetoric or exaggeration. Death doesn't scare me, but this prolonged torture DOES SCARE ME. It's too much. Too many useless rules and guidelines.
If this movement is serious, fight where the pain actually is.

I feel sickened that our country has attacked yet another country, and all those little girls who’ve been robbed of life and their families who’ll never recover. With this and all the horrors Trump has perpetrated on the world, including US citizens, I’m just angry and determined to do what I can to get us out of this mess as fast as it can happen.
A full and complete house cleaning if our Congress, Senate, DOJ, Bureau of Land Management, etc , it all needs cleaned out. Candidates that are for stronger laws to clean out abusers of both children and animals. The death penalty put back into action and used on child and animal abuse along with all the other heinous crimes. No more kid gloves and no more suspended sentences. No more of years of the guilty being kept. Immediate caring out of sentence after time to get things in order. No more animal lab testing. It is a needless animal abuse since animals systems and make up are nothing like humans so it is a waste of time, money, and resources especially the cruel needless pain, fear, suffering and death of their helpless victims. The Wild Mustangs and Burro's are released from the Bureau of Land Managements holding pens and returned to their lands and a permanent lock is placed on all publick lands to safe guard them from fraudulent land grabs. Right now the BLM has a disposal going on with our Wild Mustangs and Wild Burro's because they want the land and they have to get rid of our Mustangs and Buros before they can steal land that was designated for them. This is some of the major priorities that I want in a candidate. Not just lip service. The laws dont seem to apply to the lower class as they do for others. I never felt like ky input was applied to thr laws that apply to me. It feels like fancy slavery dressed up as choice. The pay 2 live system is not sustainable. The minimum is out of reach. When a family meal is $75 minimum, it may as well be $MILLION. I'm palliative and dont have much time left, I just want my kids to feel like the future is going to have a few moments worth fighting for. It's a challenge just to wake up and brush my teeth.

I miss diversity. for me it is a positive good. It's how we will survive and it's what makes us beautiful as human humanity.
