Trump’s Fossil Fuel Focus Means Higher Bills for Us
Working families across America don’t need another lecture about “energy dominance.” We’re living the reality—opening our utility bills and watching the numbers climb higher month after month. In 2025, the truth is undeniable: Donald Trump’s gas-first energy agenda is driving up energy costs, and everyday people are paying the price.
The data is clear. A new analysis shows that energy bills in the United States have increased by 13% since Trump took office, a sharp rise that cuts directly into household budgets already strained by rising living costs. This isn’t an abstract policy debate—it’s money coming straight out of people’s pockets. Natural gas, which Trump has aggressively promoted through expanded exports, is a major driver of these increases. U.S. households paid $124 more on natural gas in the first nine months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, according to a detailed analysis of energy markets. That spike isn’t accidental. The scale of this export frenzy is staggering. As one expert noted, “The United States is exporting so much natural gas that the eight export terminals are consuming … more natural gas than all 184 million Americans that get direct natural gas from utilities.” — Truthout
Trump once promised to slash electricity bills in half. Instead, Americans are seeing the opposite. Even worse, the administration is enabling Wall Street interests to profit while families struggle. Not a commercial promotion, but I installed solar panels in April and my total energy spending from April 20 to December 20 was 34% lower this year than the same period the year before. Not clear what the payback period will be on the solar panels, but the higher the cost of natural gas, the bigger the savings will be going forward. It works better in the spring/summer (longer days) but solar panels offer some liberation from all this.
Anything related to Trump - Follow the Money. He and his billionaire buddies can NEVER get enough. He is and has always been a money grubber. He has NO clue how regular people live. He would get lost in a grocery store and couldn't find a thing unless his handlers showed him where things are.
